A VINTAGE STORY
What is it about fashion from another decade that makes it so captivating? Imagine this: a revolution—not just in liberty or sexuality… but in music, culture, and politics, and even a change of scenery in fashion the history. Yes, my friend, we have officially entered the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Paris, France Written by: Rebecka Lonntorp
It’s a cold Friday afternoon— even with hours to get dressed, I still find myself rushing out the door, coat in hand. A classic pair of Levi’s jeans gives my otherwise ‘petite’ legs an extra inch or two under my beloved Balenciaga heels (I got on sale last winter)…
A final quick look in the mirror, before I rush out and I decide to bring my Gucci Jackie. It’s only right, I think — after all, the bag is named after the ‘60s queen, Jackie O.
It’s one of those perfect Paris days, streets filled with people, and the air perfectly cold (to give you that frosty-light-pink cheek, without completely freezing to death).
I’m a corner away from Henri’s Store, we had been introduced a couple of weeks prior, a normal Thursday evening that had turn into a different story, as I sat my little foot inside of the glass doors at 23 rue des vertus 75003, and locked eyes with what I would become, my plus one for the night…
; a fur coat out of this world - part tweed, part fur, with a remarkable resemblance of a young Vivian Westwood.
The Vintage Store: Dynasty has that curtain “je ne se quit” and is a true 'diamond in the rough' with something for everyone. Henri and my friend Hampus (who introduced us) chat in the background, while I roam the store… captivated by the vivid shapes and colors of green, yellow, and orange, with the unmistakable 70s vibe. I’d knew I be back.
… so here I am again, back, in my Levi’s jeans and frosty cheeks, bringing coffee and croissants in hand, ready to meet the man behind the ‘Cinderella’ glass doors — Henri Montag @DynastyVintageParis. X

MEET HENRI MONTAG
“We started just short of lockdown, Henri tells - I frequented the store, and was meeting a lot of people, who spread the word about it, particularly amongst the '60s and '70s - enthusiasts. Four years later (today), I mostly work with regulars: musicians, performers, or people who are seeking the perfect outfit for an event. My Parisian customers are mostly men, because I advertise the clothes by wearing it myself… But, we still have a selection of women’s tailored garments.”
Henri’s genuine interest for selling and discovering vintage, started long before he had open his vintage store DYNASTY, it started with a passion for beautiful things ‘beyond our time’ — and as a child Henri dreamed about becoming an archaeologist. Today, he and his partner, roams France for the best of the 60s or 70s —in terms of fashion, from garage sales, to online or too vintage heirlooms.

“What inspires me the most about the 60/70s fashion, is the modernity and the free spirit of the era, Henri tells - as it was a time when everything felt possible!! It was also a celebration of the youth and joy, and the colors are what’s most attractive to me. They were everywhere, in interiors, fashion, etc — compared to today when everything is grey. This represents a time, when people were educated enough to already know; previous fashion and trends, and they got inspired by it.
The best about vintage, is that we’re label to draw inspiration from times before us today, learn from It and get inspired by it — Henri Montag.
